Journaling a Different Way

If you’ve been scrapping for a while you know that your pages really SHOULD have journaling on them. Why you might ask. Well, think about when you find pictures or albums from a family member but when you turn it over hoping to find out who, what this picture was all about it doesn’t have any info on them. So the picture might be fabulous and could be telling a story that you don’t know. Without the journaling though, it’s just a nice picture.

Journaling can be intimidating for sure though because you might think it has to be a novel or you might think you’re not really a good writer. Don’t think any of those things, just write the first things that come to your mind. Don’t overthink it.

Here’s a couple of pictures that I cherish but without any journaling, you really don’t know what they actually mean to me. Don’t get me wrong the pics show some beautiful horses and that’s great but…

These pictures are from a time on the ranch when we had a large herd of horses and they would come around and see us every couple of days. I couldn’t wait to see them when they came by as they are so BEAUTIFUL!

Here’s a layout I made with these pictures but with journaling so the reason I cherish them will be saved also. As you can see it’s not long or perfect but it’s MY story on these pictures.

This page also shows you can change up how you journal on your page. I love the strips of paper behind each sentence. To me, this is a fun way to journal instead of all on one piece of paper. So think “outside” of the box when you journal next time.

Journal With Me

Unrecognizable person writing on a piece of paper.

This blog has always been about creating. I’ve shared cards, scrapbook pages, calendars, and wall art with each one also having emotions I’m wanting to convey to someone.

Sometimes the emotion I’m feeling is captured in the photos or elements on a card but more often than not they are conveyed with the words I write. They aren’t always long stories maybe just a sentence or two. Either way, the words matter to me as I share those feelings or for the person who’s receiving it.

I go back in time a bit, 🙂 and ask you to do the same. Did you ever receive a letter from someone you cared about and couldn’t wait to read what they wrote and many times keeping it and rereading it many times? Or an email? How about that card you received that made you feel special?

Today’s blog is reminding you that your emotions should be written down. I’m not saying share those words with everyone on social media but write them down for YOURSELF. Journaling is like the diary we girls used to keep when we were young. If you’re like me those words were therapeutic which I didn’t know then but can see that now.

This past couple of months have been crazy and not seen in our lifetime before so those emotions of ours are all over the place. Create, create, and create even more. But do it with words also to go with whatever you are creating. OR why not just grab a notebook and create your own journal just for you! Get out all those emotions your feeling and then I pray that as you write them you ask God to help you with whatever it is or thank Him for the good times! He IS there for you!

I pray my blog is a source of enjoyment and encouragement for you as that is what I strive for. Have a blessed day and…

Happy crafting ’til next time,♥
