What, you say?? Did you know that every two minutes we take as many photos as all of humanity in total took in the 1800’s. Can you guess how many photos we took in the year 2017 alone? Answer 7.5 TRILLION!!!
If you think of it for hundreds of years people have wanted to preserve moments of time for future generations. Think about how long it took for the first photo generations had to stand still for those photos to be taken. When you look at some of your old family photos and they aren’t smiling have you asked why? A couple of reasons – the time it took was up to 5 minutes, so think about yourself holding a smile for that long. Another reason is photographers took their cue from paintings in that time – not many subjects were smiling in those paintings.
I’ve never been a fan of “the cloud” for storage. Call me paranoid or whatever but with all the security breaches that have happened over the years and the companies keeping silent until it gets leaked to the media confirms my doubts. Plus, if you read the terms and conditions of these companies, they can cancel your storage account and delete your items without prior notice to you when you use them for free. If you pay for this service read their terms because they can do the same thing if you fail to pay.
So I’ve been fine with backing up all my data and photos to multiple EHD’s in several places. Problem with that is it’s time-consuming and I have to make sure I have EHD’s in different places in case of fire or other catastrophic events.
Most of my blog posts don’t show my family other than a random shot of my ranchman with his hat and glasses on but…… I do take MANY photos of us and all my family throughout the year. I just choose to keep them off the internet. These family photos and historical documents are also something I want to protect and I’ve scanned many items to put on the EHD.
My mind has been changed 180 degrees by Forever!
FOREVER isn’t like other photo storage services. FOREVER is focused on providing you with a permanent digital home that will last for generations. I know, skeptical right?
So I’m asking you how many photos do you have on your phone? Do you still use another camera, how many are on there? Do you have multiple memory cards laying around? How about on your computer? If you lost your phone or camera cards or if your computer hard drive crashed would you miss any of those photos? Do you have them on a temporary cloud service? Remember, once the moment is gone or photos deleted from the cloud you can’t get them back. Are you enjoying those photo’s you’ve taken over the years? Are they just stored somewhere or can you make a special gift for someone with a couple of those treasured photos?
It’s like insurance for your photos.
